What is EpicYatzy?

EpicYatzy is a free browser game where two to eight friends play Yatzy or Maxi Yatzy around a cosy 3D tavern table. Real physics rolls the dice, every player keeps a private hand of optional power cards, and rooms are public or private with a room code. No account, no download. Made in Sweden.

Do I need an account or a download?

No. EpicYatzy runs in your browser on phone, tablet and desktop. Enter a guest name, then create a room or join one with a room code. The game is free, with no ads and no purchases.

How many people can play?

Two to eight players share one table. Rooms can be public or private with a room code, and the host can add AI players to fill empty seats, so you can also practise alone.

What are power cards?

Optional cards in each player's private hand that bend the rules: Second Wind for an extra throw, Copycat to copy a die, Jinx and Frostbite to reroll or freeze an opponent's die, Detour to block a scoring row, Shield to cancel an attack, plus Pickpocket, Trade, Trade-In and Thaw. Opponents get a 15-second window after your first throw to attack. Switch every card off for classic Yatzy.

Is Yatzy the same as Yahtzee?

Yatzy is the Scandinavian dice game; Yahtzee is its American cousin. EpicYatzy follows the Scandinavian scorecard: one pair and two pairs, a small straight of 1–5 for 15, a large straight of 2–6 for 20, a full house scored as the sum of the dice, and a 63-point upper bonus. You may fill the categories in any order.
