About the creator

EpicYatzy is a one-person side project. I am Norbert Laszlo, an AI solutions architect and software engineer based in Gothenburg, Sweden. I built it to explore ideas for spicing up Yatzy when playing with friends.

Why this game exists

Most browser Yatzy is a scorecard with a roll button. EpicYatzy is an attempt at the opposite: dice thrown with real physics that every player at the table sees land the same way, a 3D table for up to eight people, and optional power cards that give a round a twist. Switch every card off and you have the plain Scandinavian game.

It is free, has no ads, no accounts and no purchases.

What I do the rest of the time

By day I work on AI strategy, architecture and hands-on development, helping companies turn AI ambitions into systems that survive contact with production. I hold an M.Sc. in Data Science and AI and a B.Sc. in Software Engineering. Outside client work I build products, benchmark coding agents and write about what actually holds up.

My portfolio at norbertlaszlo.com collects that work. The projects page covers things I have built, including this game, and the articles page has my writing on AI agents, evaluation and software engineering.

Bug reports, rule arguments, feature ideas and plain hellos are all welcome. Write to hello@norbertlaszlo.com, or find me on LinkedIn.

Buy me a coffee

Nothing here is paywalled and nothing will be. If the game has given you a good evening, a coffee is a welcome way to show your appreciation.
